Tonneau Cover

I wanted to store 12 to 14 of the batteries in the back. I could not find a tool box big enough for 14. I considered a tonneau cover. This would give me the whole back for the batteries. Those cost between $200 to $1,000 dollars.

I bought some wood from Lowes and some Vinyl from Hancock Fabicks. I got some headliner glue from Advance Auto Parts and fabric batting from Walmart. This totaled to just over $100. However, I spent two days working on it.

It would have been much easier if I could have bought a piece of plywood that was 5 feet wide and vinyl that was more than 55 inches wide. I have a seam in the plywood and in the vinyl.

I'll have to find a way to lock it in later on. I am considering getting a linear actuator to open and close the cover.
