Live Prongs?
After installing the previous power receptacle on the truck. I did a mental walk-through of how it would function. It was completely backwards.
I envisioned the outlet on the truck as looking like a regular outlet. When you plug a cord into an outlet, you have the prongs on the cord and the holes on the outlet. So, in my configuration, I would have a cord with prongs on both ends. If I plugged the cord into the house first, then I would have live prongs on the other end. A really bad idea! I needed a male receptacle on the truck.
Lowes sells a box with just this configuration. It contains an NEMA L14-30 receptacle. So, I bought the box, more conduit and connectors. Now, I have the new box installed on the truck.
I need a power cord, and I need to hook the charger to the batteries.
