10% Chance of rain
They were calling for a 10% chance of an isolated thunderstorm today. This time of the year, almost every day has a chance of thunderstorms. I figured it would be a safe day to drive the truck to work.
Leaving work at 5:00 PM, the weather map showed a huge, intense thunderstorm just to the west of Winston-Salem. Attempting to beat the storm, I drove the truck like I would any other vehicle. It responded as well as my other truck, a V6 Ford Ranger.
The rain caught up with me. The manual for the motor says to guard against debris and water. But, I have not gotten around to that yet. In a proactive measure, I pulled over and waited for the storm to pass.
Forty five minutes later, I decided to see how the truck would do in the rain. A few miles down the road, I stopped at Advance Auto Parts to wait-out the rest of the storm. On the way out of the parking lot, I even squealed a tire on the wet pavement. Not bad for 144 Volts in the rain!
Over all, the truck did great! This was indeed a bonding moment.
