Advance DC or Kostov?
I don’t understand the source of my current problem. I cannot identify any specific part that is at fault. I do know that my current setup pushes the limits of the ADC 9” motor. However, there are many systems like mine functioning today without any problems.
Advance DC Motors are high quality motors. It is highly improbable there is anything wrong with the motor. However, the Kostov has a feature called interpoles that make them less susceptible to commutator flash-over. And, it is rated for a higher voltage. I don't know how the performance compares.
I don't really know what "interpoles" are or how they work. But, I will learn soon. It seems that I learn more from my failures than I do my successes.
Update: I think I found the problem. Broken motor mount. I would not realize this until I removed the motor support bracket on the day I planed to install the Kostov motor. I fixed the mount and reinstalled the old motor. We will see how it works. ...A few days later... It runs great with the Advance DC Motor. I guess I need another vehicle for the Kostov Motor.
