Install old motor
I decided to re-install the Advanced Motors and Drives (AMD) motor. I did not give up on the Kostov, but I wanted to determine whether the motor mount could have been the source of all of my problems.
I carried the old motor outside, and brought out my engine lift. It was hot and extremely humid! I got the hub and mounting bracket (the red thing) installed. I added the flywheel and then installed the clutch. When torquing the clutch bolts, one of them snapped!
I wanted get the motor installed this evening since I already put a lot of time and energy in getting prepared. I went to Autozone, where I got the original flywheel, and bought some new bolts. I then went to another Autozone to get a new flywheel. I figured it would take a few hours to remove the bolt stub from the flywheel, so I just bought a new one.
So, now I have grade 8 bolts and a new flywheel! And, the motor is finally installed. It's time to clean my house again.
PS: I think I lost a few pound over the last week. I have to use another notch on my belt.
